About We Are Naked After All

Latitude Artist Community’s mission is to provide artists - particularly those considered by some to have a disability - with a variety of essential creative and technical supports and to create innovative ways in which to develop - encourage and engage in the profoundly necessary dialog which must accompany and contribute to the essential notions and energy implicit in transformation and acceptance.

In We Are Naked After All Latitude artists will create a venue for two beings in which one (the performer) is for a brief time required to shed layers of acquired self authority - accept personal vulnerabilities and embrace the mystic need for intimacy while revealing life narratives which may contribute positively to the flow of discourse around disability culture. While the emphasis is on the performer - those who enter into a dialog are free to craft a narrative in collaboration with the performer which may take any form at all - disability associated or not - as long as it is comfortable for the performer.

Q + A
Is the performer naked?
Yes and No - the performer is naked and is within a kind of wonderfully adorned - screened environment or booth - which no one from outside will be able to see into.

So what’s the point?
We feel that this may aid in creating a conversation which is more open and honest - plus it sounded like fun.

Do all the performers have a disability?
No - our only requirement is that each performer has had some association at some point with Latitude Artist Community.
